MSN carries a story admonishing the Federal Reserve and associates for the present economic calamity: “New Bull, New Bubble, New Meltdown?” To be sure, the author perpetuates plenty of old fallacies and unsubstantiated generalizations – and his line of thinking is more than a bit difficult to follow – but this is the first time I’ve read an MSN article so critical of government economic policy. Instead of promoting only social responsibility, the First Lady’s latest wardrobe masterpiece, and all things “green,” MSN briefly slips up and reports something mildly interesting. The article goes so far as to use words like “revolution” and “Great Depression 2,” blatantly calls out the Fed for causing the present mess, and even predicts the eventual implosion of the central banking system! Wow. How did this sneak past the MSN editorial staff?

Man has the “right to his own life, to his own liberty, to the pursuit of his own happiness – which means: man’s right to exist for his own sake, neither sacrificing himself to others nor sacrificing others to himself; and that the political implementation of this right is a society where men deal with one another as traders, by voluntary exchange to mutual benefit.” – Ayn Rand
